TRAINING NEWS
Hoffner's Ultimate Pistol & Shotgun Class Review
Last month, we hosted guest instructor and very good friend, Brian Hoffner, newest strategic partner of the Team Spartan Network and owner of Hoffner's Training Academy. The course consisted of 3 days of training. Day 1 covered a 4 hour lecture on combat mindset and The Code of the Warrior. Day 2 covered the Ultimate Pistol class and Day 3 covered the Ultimate Shotgun class. Needless to say, student intensity was high as everyone worked hard in both classes to absorb as much information as they could!

During Hoffners Ultimate Pistol class, we improved everyones ability to get in the fight and hit faster by working on SoSu (Sights On - Slack Up) presentation methodology. We worked on CQB battle skills and took the fight to the attackers weak side using tactical surprise to gain the advatage till the end - Awesome! From extreme CQB contact distance to sniper with a pistol we got it done.

During Hoffners Ultimate Shotgun, students found out why Hoffner's method of shotgun is so devestating in the CQB fight. From 15 yards, everyone was hitting the target from low ready (safety engaged) repeatedly in about a half second. We had several sub half second hits - outstanding! Rapid fire drills showed that awesome firepower can be delivered by a skilled operator. Select slug drills gave us the versatility of accuracy, distance and penetration. Everyone kicked butt on Hoffner's shotgun standard drill, which evaluates weapon manipulation skills, multi-tasking under stress, accuracy and pistol transition.

Brian rocked all three days and everyone went home very satisified with what they learned! The classes were a HUGE hit and we are working on bringing Hoffner back and hosting more of his classes in the future. Keep checking the Team Spartan newsletter and training schedule for details.
NORTH SUBURBAN POLICE PISTOL LEAGUE - NSPPL
The North Suburban Police Pistol League (NSPPL) offers a variety of shooting venues to compete in, offering matches in Combat (both open and duty classes), bullseye, off-duty handgun, snub nose revolver, long range rifle and 3-gun. The NSPPL also conducts an Annual Awards Banquet at the end of each shooting season, recognizing the top shooters of the league in 6 ranking catagories for each venue. The NSPPL offers one of the most impressive prize tables in the shooting industry, with over 50 firearms given away at last years banquet! Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center (NLETC) - Grant Funded Training
The Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center (NLETC) is sponsoring a Nebraska state funded grant to host Team Spartan's Defensive Duty Knife Instructor Course September 22 - 26, 2008 in Grand Island, Nebraska. This strategic partnership with NLETC will allow us to provide state funded and approved training to law enforcement officers in the state of Nebraska that qualify for grant covered training.
