DEFENSIVE DUTY KNIFE 3:

Rapid Deployment Duty Knife

Course # DDK3.0820.1

Pre-requisite: DEFENSIVE DUTY KNIFE 2

 

This intense 8-hour training block concludes the Defensive Duty Knife Program with advanced training concepts and use of the duty knife.

Emphasis on developing advanced combined skills during dynamic application of the law enforcement duty knife prepares the duty knife operator for multiple strike applications on multiple targets.

This course is directed at developing rapid deployment operator skills for the defensive use of the duty knife through reality based force-on-target and force-on-force training.

Our Defensive Duty Knife Program focuses on training law enforcement officers and armed professionals in reasonable and effective deployment of the duty knife as a defensive tool and justifies its application within the Use of Force Continuum.

  • Duty knife characteristics and selection.                               

  • Carrying a duty knife and accessibility.                             

  • Mental conditioning and combat mindset.                        

  • Principal rules of using a duty knife in self-defense.        

  • Justifiable use of the duty knife in the Continuum of Force.

  • Legal issues and developing agency duty knife policy.

  • Identifying and understanding edged weapon threats.

  • Defensive reaction to edged weapon attacks.

  • Understanding application and effects of knife strikes.

  • Identifying primary and secondary targets.

  • Application from incapacitation to use of deadly force.

  • Position & maneuver for close quarter defensive reaction.
  • Advanced knife striking techniques.
  • Bilateral training.
  • Continuous reaction to multiple threats.
  • Flow, feedback and reactive targets.
  • Standoff capabilities of the duty knife.
  • Weapon retention and disarming techniques.
  • Weapon transition drills.
  • Stress inoculation and stress exposure drills.
  • Combined skills evaluation.

Course duration: 1 day (8 hours)

Course tuition: $135.00

Course student limit: 20

Student requirements: Mouth guard, groin protection, comfortable clothing suitable for contact with the ground, duty belt and duty body armor.

(Body armor is required if it is part of your duty gear)

Recommended personal equipment: Kneepads, neoprene gloves or padded gloves, redman padded head protection, red gun, towel, hydration system and water.

Spartan Tactical will provide all training knives, training weapons, Shocknife products and additional safety equipment for this class.
