BRIAN BARDSLEY, JR. Combat Medic EMT / Paramedic Tactical Medicine Instructor
PROFESSIONAL VITA
Brian is a police officer with the Chicago Police Department and has over 9 years of experience in law enforcement. He has served as a beat officer in the 15th district and is the recipient of the Cook County Sheriff's Law Enforcement Award of Valor for his actions in the line of duty.
Brian currently serves as a terrorism instructor at the Chicago Police Department's Terrorism Awareness and Response Academy (TARA) where he teaches courses that educate first responders about domestic terrorism, weapons of mass destruction and terrorism prevention & deterrence.
Brian has also served as a tactical instructor with the Chicago Police Department's Tactical Training Unit where he has presented numerous classes on basic search warrant service, room clearing techniques and ballistic shield use.
Brian has been a paramedic for over 11 years and has served as a paramedic and firefighter / paramedic with several municipal fire departments including the Chicago Fire Department and Stone Park Fire Department. His extensive background as a pre-hospital healthcare provider also includes service as a combat medic during a 1 year tour in Iraq with the U.S. Army Reserves as a Medical Specialist. Brian received the Bronze Star Medal and Combat Medical Badge for his combat service in Iraq and is also a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. Brian is an affiliate faculty member at the Loyola University Medical Center Program for Pre-hospital Medicine where he presents curriculum for Emergency Medical Technicians and specialty classes on advanced cardiac life support, basic trauma life support, critical care EMT, pediatric advanced life support and prehospital trauma life support. As an invited speaker, Brian has made numerous presentations with the following professional associations and organizations:
