DS Arms FAL SA58 RIFLE ARMORER

This comprehensive 1-day armorer certification course is specifically designed for current and prospective department armorers involved in field repair and maintenance of the

DS Arms FAL SA58 rifle.

This hands-on armorer course provides the student with detailed information covering the history of the FN FAL rifle, nomenclature, cycle of operation, basic disassembly & reassembly, detailed disassembly & reassembly, function checking, trouble shooting, basic field repair, preventive maintenance and care & cleaning.

All students that successfully pass the written and practical examinations at the conclusion of this armorer course will receive a DS Arms FAL SA58 armorer's certification, which is valid for three years.

DS Arms will provide all students with SA58 rifles, magazines, tools and armorer manuals for this armorer course.

The following armorer topics will be covered:

  • Firearms safety review.

  • History of the FN FAL rifle.

  • Nomenclature of the SA58 rifle.

  • Field stripping the SA58 rifle.

  • Function checking the SA58 rifle.

  • Mechanical operation of the SA58 rifle.

  • Detailed disassembly / reassembly of the SA58 upper receiver.

  • Detailed disassembly / reassembly of the SA58 lower receiver.

  • Detailed disassembly / reassembly of the SA58 bolt group.

  • Disassembly / reassembly of the FAL magazine.

  • Trouble shooting problems and basic field repairs.

  • Preventive maintenance and cleaning.

  • Written examination.

  • Practical examination.

Course duration: 1 day (8 hours)

Course tuition: $175.00

Course student limit: 20

Student requirements: Note pad and pen, eye protection.
