Non-LEO training pre-requisite: Our 3-day Defensive Handgun Certification Course or firearms training course of equivalent level to meet the handgun transition phase of this course.
Law Enforcement Officers that have completed their state certified Basic Law Enforcement Academy Certification training meet the pre-requisite handgun training standards for this course.
Post-Incident Legal Defense Support: This training curriculum meets ILETSB training standards. Curriculum materials; lesson plan, course itinerary, syllabus with SPO’s, student performance records, instructor certification credentials and list of supporting reference materials are available for post-incident legal defense depositions and legal defense litigation discovery.
Course Description: This intense 2-day firearms training course focuses on tactical speed shooting concepts, development of aggressive gun-handling skills and dynamic action when using the shotgun for personal defense and home defense applications.
The concepts of dominating the weapon, threat, and all visual areas while continuously moving will be emphasized throughout the course.
Students will develop reflexive gun-handling skills with the shotgun that will enable them to quickly and efficiently engage threats while performing multiple complex tasks.
This course takes the student beyond the basics of the shotgun and introduces the student to deployment techniques that are critical when deploying the shotgun for personal defense.
This is a fast paced, physically demanding firearms training course! Students should be in good physical condition, familiar with their equipment and have solid intermediate gun-handling skills established prior to attending this firearms training course.
Students have the option to use pump-action or semi-automatic shotguns in this course. Shotguns must be 12 gauge and have a side receiver ejection port.
Lever-action and exposed hammer shotguns are not allowed!
Detachable magazine-fed shotguns are not allowed!

Course student limit: 16
Student requirements: Note pad and pen, eye protection, ear protection, baseball type cap, heavy-duty leather or nylon pants belt, holster and magazine carriers, personal defense pistol with at least 3 magazines, 12 gauge pump action or semi-automatic shotgun with rifle sights or ghost ring sights, shotgun shell pouch and tactical sling.
Recommended equipment: Shotgun shell pouch, sling swivels on front and rear of shotgun, rain gear, sunscreen, insect repellent, hydration system, water, gun-cleaning kit and gun oil / CLP.
The tactical sling must allow the shotgun to hang freely in front of the shooter.
All shotguns in this course require iron sights, preferably ghost ring sights or rifle sights. Bead sight shotguns will greatly limit the shooters ability in this class.
Red dot sights and holographic sights are allowed in this class.
Ammunition requirements: 300 birdshot, 200 rounds of buckshot
(# 4 to 000 allowed), 25 rounds of slug and 50 rounds of handgun ammunition. (Minimum)
(Semi-automatic shotguns that cannot cycle birdshot will need 500 rounds of buckshot)
