Prior to federal service, Matt worked as a municipal Firefighter / Paramedic for 11 years for the City of Saco, ME. He also served as Deputy Fire Chief overseeing EMS & rescue services for a large paid-on-call fire department in southern Maine. Additionally, Matt has law enforcement experience as a part-time Police Officer.
Other clinical medical experience includes employment in hospital emergency departments, a Level 1 trauma center and the Northern New England Poison Control Center. He has instructed fire department peers in medical continuing education courses and non-medical civilians in first aid and CPR / AED training.
Matt currently serves Spartan Tactical as a Training Consultant for the Emergency Medical Response for Trauma Injuries Program and the Rescue Task Force Response to Active Shooter Incidents Program.
