Pre-requisite: Student instructors seeking to attend this course must be a certified firearms instructor with current / valid instructor credentials.
Post-Incident Legal Defense Support: This training curriculum meets ILETSB training standards. Curriculum materials; lesson plan, course itinerary, syllabus with SPO’s, student performance records, instructor certification credentials and list of supporting reference materials are available for post-incident legal defense depositions and legal defense litigation discovery.
Course Description: This challenging 3-day instructor certification course focuses on advanced instructor skills in the tactical use and application of the patrol rifle for operator deployment.
Students will learn about methods of instruction, lesson plan development, fundamental diagnostics, establishing operator standard drills, basic and advanced qualification course development, running live-fire courses of fire and how to apply these techniques in classroom and live-fire presentations.
Students will be required to develop lesson plans for evaluated live-fire range presentations using the techniques presented in this program for instructor certification.
Upon completion of this course, the student will possess the skills and knowledge necessary to instruct, evaluate, test and certify qualified operators in the safe use and deployment of the patrol rifle for personal defense applications.
Students that successfully pass the instructor standard drill test, qualification courses, presentation evaluation and written test are eligible to receive tactical rifle instructor certification.
This is a physically demanding, technical firearms training course! Students should be in good physical condition, familiar with their equipment and have solid Advanced gun-handling skills with the rifle and handgun established prior to attending this course.
If you do not have a rifle for this course, Spartan Tactical can provide student loaner rifles, magazines and slings upon request.
Students have the option to use their agency issued or personally owned weapons. Select fire weapons are allowed.

Course student limit: 20
Student requirements: Note pad and pen, eye protection, ear protection, baseball type cap, heavy-duty leather or nylon pants belt, holster and magazine carriers, personal defense handgun with at least 3 magazines, personal defense rifle, tactical sling and at least (4) magazines, flashlight, knee pads, elbow pads, gun cleaning kit and gun oil / CLP.
Recommended equipment: Red dot sights and holographic sights are allowed. Back-up iron sights, rifle magazine carriers, rain gear, sunscreen, insect repellent, knee & elbow pads, hydration system, water, weapon-mounted flashlight and clothing suitable for contact with the ground.
The tactical sling must allow the rifle to hang freely in front of the shooter. We will not be covering conventional sling use in this class.
Equipment requirements: If you are using an electronic / red dot sight, it must be capable of zero magnification. We also recommend having back-up iron sights on your rifle in case your electronic sight goes down.
This course will be limited to Duty Use / Personal Defense use type rifles only. 3-gun competition configured rifles will not be allowed in this course!
Standard personal defense trigger-pull weight should be between 6 - 4.5 pounds. Any rifles with competition style triggers less than 4.5 pounds will be disqualified for use in this course.
Ammunition requirements: 900 rounds of rifle ammunition and 100 rounds of handgun ammunition.
Approved rifles for this course: All AR-15 type, all M-4 type, Ruger Mini 14 and Mini 30, H&K G-36 and all M1A type. (No bullpup designs allowed)
All other rifle types will need to be reviewed and approved by Spartan Tactical prior to attending the class.
Approved rifle calibers for this course: .223, 5.45, 5.56, .300 Blackout, .308, 6.8 SPC, 7.62 x 39.

Ammunition must be new manufacture. Brass case will work best!
Absolutely no reloaded or remanufactured ammunition!
