Non-LEO training pre-requisite: Our 3-day Defensive Handgun Certification Course or firearms training course of equivalent level. (Contingent to student skill-set screening approval by our instructor staff)
Law Enforcement Officers that have completed their state certified Basic Law Enforcement Academy Certification training meet the pre-requisite handgun training standards for this course.
Post-Incident Legal Defense Support: This training curriculum meets ILETSB training standards. Curriculum materials; lesson plan, course itinerary, syllabus with SPO’s, student performance records, instructor certification credentials and list of supporting reference materials are available for post-incident legal defense depositions and legal defense litigation discovery.
Course Description: This 2-day firearms training course focuses on the experienced / intermediate shooter that wants to transition from Iron Sights to the Pistol Mounted Optic (PMO) handgun.
This course was developed for the shooter that already understands how to operate a semi-automatic pistol with iron sights, and wishes to transition to and learn how to use a Pistol Mounted Optic on their personal defense handgun.
Students will learn enhanced dry-practice and live-fire techniques that focus on development of combat gun-handling skills in preparation for use of the Pistol Mounted Optic handgun for home defense, concealed carry, LE duty and personal defense applications.
This course will also cover the primary elements of combat mindset, situational awareness, principals of personal defense and the physiological response & reaction of the human body under duress.
Students that successfully pass the timed Pistol Mounted Optics Handgun Qualification Course will receive a certified marksmanship rating and eligibility to progress on to our advanced handgun training programs.

Course student limit: 14
Student requirements: Notepad and pen, eye protection, ear protection, baseball type cap, heavy-duty pants belt (leather or nylon), holster and magazine carriers, personal defense handgun with Pistol Mounted Optic (PMO), at least (3) standard capacity magazines or (5) single stack magazines, micro-fiber cleaning clothe for optics glass, anti-fog spray or drops for PMO / RDS glass cleaning, handgun cleaning kit and gun oil / CLP.
Recommended equipment: Rain gear, sunscreen, insect repellent, hydration system and water. (For outdoor classes only)
Ammunition requirements: 750 rounds (minimum)
(Ammunition is available for purchase upon request)
This course will be limited to Personal Defense handguns and LE Duty handguns that are designed to be carried for personal protection.
Competition pistols will not be allowed in this course.
